The beginning of the year 2008 was not good and many big budget films could not do well. But Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ and Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ brought a smile for Bollywood Film Industry as they are doing bumper business at box office and in overseas markets.
Due to Mumbai terror attacks it was expecting that this time is not good to release the films but ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Ghajini’ have proved it wrong.
Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ has broken all the previous records of advance-booking and is ready to be the biggest hit of the year 2008.
’Ghajini’’s first day collection is approximately three times of Shahrukh Khan ’s ‘Rab Ne Bana di Jodi’.
If reports are to believed, Bollywood Film Industry has lost Rs 600 million in the month of October alone but ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ have brought smile for Industry.
The year 2008 saw some big flops films like ‘Love Story 2050’, ‘Tashan’ and ‘Kidnap’ but ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Singh Is Kinng’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Dostana’ did good business.
Trade analysts said, “The film ‘Dostana’ has received Rs 55 crore, ‘Golmaal Returns’ Rs 90 crore, ‘Fashion’ Rs 60 crore, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ Rs 100 crore approx (till now) and ‘Ghajini’ is all set to leave behind all these films by the end of only its first week.
